This is a story about how a young couple blindly gets into what is termed as one chance marriage and, as a result of their carelessness, they mess up everything.
With too many divorce stories flying around in the social media these days, the once honourable institution of marriage is being gradually turned into a playground for absurdities by many young couples.
AMANDA
(hisses) You were watching football till 11pm… After putting me in this condition abi? I just hope it's not what I'm suspecting.
ADEWALE
(slightly angry) Suspecting what? Amanda! Amanda! Amanda! How many times did I call you?... Are you trying to deny me my peace again tonight?
AMANDA
(raises her voice) Look here Ade, are you shouting at me, your pregnant wife? In case you don't know, I'm suspecting you. And I just hope you're not cheating on me with another lady. I hope so o! I hope so! Because if you dare cheat on me ehn… I will kill you. I will kill myself! And I will burn down this house!
FADE OUT.
SCENE OPENS TO LAGOS AIRPORT - DAY
Mr. DONALD, a middle-aged wealthy architect, walks out of the airport terminal, carrying a briefcase. He takes out his phone and dials a number.
CUT TO ADEWALE'S LIVING ROOM - DAY
AMANDA, an attractive woman in her 30s, answers the phone.
AMANDA
(whispering) Hello?
DONALD
(excited) Amanda, darling! I'm back in Lagos. Let's meet this evening at Bunking Hotel. After a week in Abuja, I've missed all the excitement you give.
AMANDA
(slightly hesitant) Sure, I'll be there. But before we meet, I have a personal project that requires Two Hundred Thousand Naira. Can you help me?
DONALD
(smiling) Of course, my dear. I'll give you the Two Hundred Thousand Naira. Just make sure you satisfy me better during our private meeting.
AMANDA
(excited) Okay then, Mr. Donald. I'll see you at the usual time.
They hang up, and Amanda looks conflicted.
SCENE SHOWS ADEWALE'S LIVING ROOM - DAY
Amanda sits on the couch, talking to her best friend, PENNY.
AMANDA
(teary-eyed) Penny, I'm pregnant... That's not even the main issue. The thing is, I don't know if the baby belongs to Adewale or Mr. Donald. And it could even be that my ex-boyfriend, Austin is responsible. Baby girl I'm scared and confused… Please, what should I do?
Penny thinks for a moment.
PENNY
(slyly) Amanda, calm down. See ehn, you need to secure your future. Start collecting money from both of them as your insurance. Mr. Donald and your ex, that Austin guy.
Amanda hesitates but ultimately agrees.

SCENE OPENS TO AUTO MECHANIC'S WORKSHOP - DAY
ADEWALE, Amanda's husband, sits in his car, waiting for the mechanic, SABO, to repair the engine. Adewale dozes off and enters a dream sequence.
CUT TO DREAM SEQUENCE - STREAM - DAY
Adewale tries to fetch water with a basket from a stream but fails miserably. He looks frustrated and confused.
CUT TO MECHANIC'S WORKSHOP - DAY
Sabo shakes Adewale awake, signaling that the car repairs are complete. Adewale thanks him, pays for his service and drives away.
SCENE SHOWS A RESTAURANT - DAY
Adewale sits at a table, having lunch with his friend, TONY.
ADEWALE
(still perplexed) Tony, I had this strange dream o. I saw myself trying to fetch water with a basket from a shallow stream, but it was impossible. It was a very frustrating experience.
TONY
(concerned) Dreams can have deep meanings, my friend. It could indicate that something in your life is futile or impossible. Maybe we should consult a prophet... I know a trustworthy Prophet, we should find time to go see him together.
FADE OUT.
SCENE OPENS TO BUNKING HOTEL - SUNSET
Amanda and Mr. Donald sit at a candlelit table in a suit, enjoying a meal.
CUT TO HOTEL SUIT INNER ROOM - SUNSET
Amanda and Mr. Donald engage in carefree intimate moments, without him knowing that she's pregnant.
SCENE SHOWS ADEWALE'S LIVING ROOM - SUNSET
Adewale returns from work and uses his key to open the door, after knocking for a while without a response from his wife, Amanda.
ADEWALE
(dials his phone) Amanda, where are you? I just got home now and there's no food, once again.
AMANDA
(on the phone) Ade you know I'm pregnant, don't you? I went to get some stuff for my health. I will be home soon.
ADEWALE
(calmly) Ok my love. I'll see you when you get home.
CUT TO ADEWALE'S BEDROOM - DAY
Amanda receives a call from Penny.
PENNY
(on the phone) Amanda, hope you remember Mummy Kabuka, the powerful spiritual lady I told you about? She might have a solution for your situation. I've told her about you and she's expecting us.
Amanda agrees and they fix a time to go.

Amanda and Penny enter a dimly lit room adorned with mystical artifacts. Mummy Kabuka, a woman in her 50s with an air of mischief, sits on a throne-like chair.
MUMMY KABUKA
(smiling to Amanda) Welcome, my daughter. I can sense your troubles. What do you really want?
Amanda explains her predicament, her uncertainty about the baby's paternity, and her desire to exercise control over her husband, Adewale.
MUMMY KABUKA
(nodding) I can help you. Drop Fifty Thousand Naira in that box, I will give you two substances. Add the brown one discreetly to your husband's food and the white one to his bathing water or body cream. They will influence him and put him under your control.
Amanda thanks Mummy Kabuka and leaves with the substances, leaving Penny behind.

(settles into his chair) My brother, your life is under a spiritual attack and the entry point is your marriage. You must be careful, I mean very careful.
Adewale listens intently as the prophet shares more details and prayers to protect him spiritually.
TONY
Thank you Prophet, we appreciate you.
PROPHET ADARA
That's not all. This your friend must stop eating any food prepared by his wife for now and get a room elsewhere to live, while only going to his house once in a while. I see danger if you continue to live with that lady or eat any food she prepares.
