Secret Lifestyle of The Barons (STORY) -- Part 1

This is a story about the underworld operation of the rich and powerful of society, importing and distributing drugs codedly across cities, offices, hotels and nightclubs. As the story unfolds, we see how an ambitious cartel boss used money from drugs to buy his way to become a governor in one of the states in Nigeria and used his immunity as cover for his agents to expand the distribution of drugs to Abuja, Port Harcourt and Lagos.

The governor recruits smooth operators who move drugs into Nigeria for him, using the Abuja airport as their favorite entry point due to poor security. But things took a different turn when a big member of the drug network died suddenly.

The story begins…

SCENE OPENS TO GOVERNOR MONGOLO'S PRIVATE PENTHOUSE - SUNSET

A lavish penthouse, adorned with expensive artwork and opulent furniture. Mongolo, an imposing figure in his late 50s with a dark face, sits behind a grand desk. He radiates power and authority.

ODOGWU, a tall and muscular man in his early 40s, dressed in a sharp suit, enters the room. He oozes confidence and menace.

MONGOLO
(smirking) Ah, Odogwu, my strong man. You are back. What do you have for me tonight?

ODOGWU
(grinning) Good evening, your excellency. You know as e dey go. All I can say is that the shipments are running smoothly. Our influence over the politicians is growing. And our empire is expanding. No shaking, your excellency.

MONGOLO
(nods approvingly) Excellent. Good work, my boy. Keep up the good work, Odogwu. And never forget loyalty is everything. Make sure none of those new boys get carried away, because betrayal will be met with swift and brutal consequences.

SCENE SHOWS A SECRET MEETING ROOM - NIGHT

A hidden room within Mongolo's penthouse, accessible only through a secret passage. The walls are lined with surveillance screens, displaying live feeds from various locations.

MADAM GOLD, a sophisticated woman in her late 40s, elegant and deadly, sits at a sleek console, monitoring the screens and fiddling with her phone.

MADAM GOLD
(smirking) Welcome back, Odogwu. I hope everything remains the same at your end?

ODOGWU
(chuckles) You know as e dey go, Madam Gold. I just finished giving His Excellency the necessary updates. Our man at the airport is really doing a nice job. I can say it with confidence that we are untouchable. The politicians, the police, the anti-drugs agency... No one can touch us.

SCENE SHOWS A CLUB HOUSE - NIGHT

A pulsating private club, filled with revelers and dim lighting. Governor Mongolo, Odogwu, and Madam Gold sit at a private booth, surrounded by loyal bodyguards.

MONGOLO
(raising his glass) To our success and the empire we are building. Today we rule this state and tomorrow, if we play our cards well, we will rule this country. No man born of a woman will dare challenge us. Common, let’s drink to more big wins.

They all clink glasses, a symbol of their shared power and bond of criminality.

FADE OUT.

SCENE OPENS TO THE EXTERIOR OF DRUG CARTEL SECRET OFFICE - DAY

A fortified compound, guarded by armed men. Odogwu oversees the drug cartel's operations, giving orders to his subordinate drug couriers.

ODOGWU
(addressing the couriers) I thank you all for coming down at such short notice. This will be a very brief meeting. Our man at the Presidency just hinted me that an informant said something about our operation to the anti-drugs agency and they are investigating the report... But I want you all to know that we have nothing to fear. We will eliminate any threat to our operation. Everyone of you should just make sure you keep a low profile until this issue is settled. No lavish spending for now, and remember not to buy things with your cards online. Always pay with cash.

SCENE SHOWS MONGOLO'S INNER SANCTUM - NIGHT

A hidden chamber within Mongolo's penthouse, accessible only through a hidden passage behind a bookshelf. The room is adorned with symbols of power and wealth.

Governor Mongolo, Odogwu, and Madam Gold gather around a table, discussing their plans and strategies for expanding their empire.

MONGOLO
(leaning forward) As we all know, the election at the federal level in Abuja is fast approaching. We must ensure our candidates win a lot of Senate seats. Select men who will bribe the electoral officials and manipulate the results to give our people victory. And anyone who's not happy after the election result is announced in our favour should go to court. We cannot afford to lose control anymore.

ODOGWU
(nods) Consider it done, Your Excellency. We are on it. In fact, I am on it. I have also sent a substantial amount to Rasaki to bribe the lawmakers and ensure that our man will become the next Senate President.

SCENE SHOWS THE INTERIOR OF A LUXURIOUS PRIVATE JET - DAY

Governor Mongolo, Odogwu, and Madam Gold board a private jet, accompanied by their loyal bodyguards. The engines roar to life as they prepare to embark on a secret international meeting.

MONGOLO
(grinning) The coast is now clear. The case reported to the anti-drugs agency about our operation has been dismissed for lacking in merit. It's time to return to full operation. I need money to finish acquiring the big machinery needed for our underground drugs factory here in the state.

They exchange knowing looks, their eyes filled with ambition and a hunger for absolute power.
