INEC Begins Online Voter Registration

As preparation for the much anticipated 2027 general elections get underway, the umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced an online process for continuous voter registration.

The commission also release details of the website where the exercise will be carried out.

Below is the official communication from INEC:

2025 NATIONWIDE CONTINUOUS VOTER REGISTRATION (CVR) 

✅ ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION:

To be active from AUGUST 18, 2025

cvr.inecnigeria.org

✅ IN-PERSON REGISTRATION:

All INEC LGA Offices Nationwide and Other Designated Registration Centres.

To be open from AUGUST 25, 2025.

⏰9:00am - 3:00pm (Mon - Fri)

The commission confirmed that those seeking to change their polling unit due to transfer or travel to a new location, as well as those wishing to replace an old or damaged PVC card, will also be able to get it done on their online portal.

For the sake of clarity… 

The INEC online portal will be open to the general public from August 18, 2025.
