Woman Who Brought Down The President (STORY) -- Part 3

This is a story about a new President who allowed his close female associate and Minister of Petroleum, Madam Lambo, to steal Billions belonging to the citizens of Nigeria while covering for her. She uses the managing director of the NNPC and two other money launderers to loot the Nigerian treasury with impunity.

The massive stealing of the Nigerian people’s wealth went on for years until a no-nonsense lady in charge of the anti-corruption agency, Bolanle Rasaki, decided to strike and take down the big looters, irrespective of their connection to Mr. President.

Story continues from Part 2…

BOB LIZZY
(nervously) But what if someone finds out?

BANARBAS
(turning to Bob Lizzy) We can't let fear consume us, my dear. We'll continue to cover our tracks meticulously. Our investments will remain untraceable, and our identities concealed. No one will suspect a thing.

Bolanle Rasaki, a stern and determined woman in her late 40s, sits behind a desk, poring over documents. Detective Bello and Detective Abiodun, two smartly dressed officers, enter the office, holding a thick file.

DETECTIVE BELLE
Good afternoon ma, we have gathered substantial evidence on Madam Lambo, Banarbas and three major accomplices - namely Ogundele, Chinasa, and Bob Lizzy. Their fraudulent financial dealings are all in this report.

Bolanle takes the file and flips through the pages, her expression growing more serious with each revelation.

BOLANLE RASAKI
(looking up) These details are shocking, to say the least. We need to take immediate action. Prepare a summary for me, and let's go see President Okonta.

SCENE SHOWS THE PRESIDENT'S EXPANSIVE OFFICE - DAY

Bolanle Rasaki, accompanied by Mustapha, the CBN governor and the President's Chief of Staff, stands before President Okonta, a formidable figure in his early 60s.

BOLANLE RASAKI
(sincerely) Mr. President, we have uncovered extensive evidence of financial fraud involving the Minister of Petroleum, Madam Lambo, the head of NNPC, Mr. Banarbas and several others. We are here to request your approval to move on them.

PRESIDENT OKONTA
(furious) How dare you accuse Lambo just like that? She's a close ally of mine. This is unacceptable… I think the CBN Governor has a hand in this allegation.

Mustapha, the CBN Governor, a nervous man in his 50s, attempts to defend himself.

GOVERNOR MUSTAPHA
(stammering) Sir, it's not like that. The evidence is overwhelming. We need to take immediate action to restore public trust.

PRESIDENT OKONTA
(dismissive) Will you keep shut there Mustapha! In fact, it's your stupid monetary policy that I need to stop, in order to restore public trust. Go and pack your things out of the CBN now, I have already appointed Elubolo as the new Governor of the CBN... As for you Bolanle, go back to your office and treat other files. Forget about Lambo, I will handle it personally.

Governor Mustapha's face falls, and he exits the room, defeated.

FADE OUT.

(coaxing) Captain sir, I need your help. Bolanle Rasaki is becoming a thorn in my flesh. I want her out of the way. Here's a substantial amount to ensure her cooperation.

Captain eyes the stack of money on the table, contemplating his options. He finally accepts the bribe.

CAPTAIN
Walai, that Bolanle Rasaki is a very stubborn woman. She inherited the character from her late father who was my friend. But you don't worry, Honourable Minister, I will do my best to make sure she drops your case.
